Every great story starts with a spark - and ours began in cookery school back in 2020, where two food lovers, Hari and Yash, met over their shared passion for good food, wine, and coffee. From classmates to life partners, we’ve been exploring the culinary world together ever since.
Yash has worked across a range of cuisines - from Europe to Asia, collecting recipes and inspiration from every place he’s visited. If he loved a dish, he’d bring it home, try it with friends and family, and make it his own. Alongside him is Karthi, Yash’s childhood friend and now business partner. With both families rooted in hospitality and entrepreneurship, Beans and Beers Torquay was a dream that naturally came to life - a place built on friendship, food, and family.
The inspiration for our celebration experiences came from Hari’s own story. When she wanted to surprise Yash for his birthday, she couldn’t find a venue that offered a ready-made, magical setup - lights, candles, music, and décor - without giving the surprise away. That’s when she promised to create a space where others could walk straight into their dream celebration, stress-free and full of wonder.
Today, Beans and Beers Torquay is just that - a coastal, family-friendly café and restaurant open from morning to night, serving fresh Aussie eats, great coffee, cold beers, and good vibes all day long. With live music, happy hours, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, it’s the perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a celebration of any size.
We’ve also made sure everyone feels at home - we’re kid-friendly, with a play zone featuring a cubby house, sandpit, and TV, and dog-friendly too, inspired by our cavoodle Taro.
